India banned 54 Chinese apps including Free Fire, see the list of banned apps.......

 India on Monday, February 14, banned 54 mobile apps with links to China, including Tencent XRiver, Nice Video Baidu and Viva Video Editor, over security and privacy issues.

 

Garena Free Fire – Illuminate was downloaded more than 100 million times on the Google Play Store. This shows that this listing is not of any cloned app but of the original Free Fire game. Apart from this, the reviews lying on this app also give evidence of this title being the original game.

 Why is the app banned?

 Apart from Garena Free Fire, most of the apps being banned are from Tencent and Aliababa Group. The list of banned apps includes cameras, video players, music players, some games and productivity tools. The government says that these apps can carry out spying and surveillance activities through camera / mic / GPS. These apps were allegedly indulging in activities detrimental to the sovereignty and integrity of the country, posing a serious threat to the security of the state and the defense of India.  Who made Free Fire?

 Free Fire became the world's most downloaded mobile game in 2019, after which it ranks among the top 10 most downloaded and highest grossing games every month.

 Free Fire is developed by 111dots Studio. This is a small gaming studio in Vietnam. Garena is the publisher of the game for the Android and iOS platforms. This company is a Singapore based game publisher and developer. But Free Fire is owned by Garena. The reason for this is that Garena bought the game and its developer only in 2017.

 

 Garena Free Fire recently disappeared from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. After this some users reported that Free Fire is not working in their phones. These are users whose device already has the game installed. At present, the game is working in some people's phones and some people are seeing the message of network error.

 According to sources, 54 Chinese apps that were banned allegedly collected sensitive information from users by obtaining critical approvals.  These apps were misusing information gathered from users and sending it to servers located in the hostile country.  According to sources, the banned apps were found allegedly indulging in activities endangering the integrity and sovereignty of the country.  They were found to pose a serious threat to the security of the country.  Sources said that the Ministry of Information Technology has issued interim instructions to ban these 54 apps.  The ministry was requested in this regard from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 The apps under the ban also include popular apps like Beauty Camera: Sweet Selfie HD, Beauty Camera: Selfie Camera, Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade, Viva Video Editor, Tencent XRiver.  Apart from these, Garena Free Fire – Illuminate, Astacraft, FancyU Pro, MoonChat, Barcode Scanner – QR Code Scan and Leica Cam have also been banned by the government.

 In the year 2020 also many major Chinese apps were banned.  In June 2020, the government banned 59 Chinese apps like Tiktok and UC Browser.  In June 2020, the Indian government lifted the ban on the Chinese app after the tension between the armies of the two countries in Ladakh.  After that the app, which was launched as a fake version of these banned apps, was also banned in August 2020.  In September the same year, the government also banned 118 other Chinese apps, including the popular gaming app PUBG.
